Bergamo airport approves guide-lines for works at Orio al Serio

Bergamo, Italy – The works from Spring 2013 to the end of 2014

(WAPA) – The Board of Directors of Sacbo (Bergamo-Orio al Serio management company) today approved the guide-lines of the tender for enlargement of the ground floor of the arrivals area and of the first floor of the departure zone of the airport, regarding the investment plan 2010-2015. The works will begin in Spring 2013 and finish within the end of 2014 in time for the “Expo 2015”. They will involve 14,000 sm, 10,400 of them for new surfaces and 3600 to reorganize. The overall value is around EUR 24 million.

Such works are added to the investments already started (terminal landside, check-in area), for a value of around 1,5 million, as of second half of September 2012 to February 2013 and those predicted for the works on runway (its first phase is planned for September 2013).

In the complex they are works for a value between 70 and 80 million that confirm the capacity of the airport infrastructure to create jobs, linked to a direct and undirect manner to the aeronautical activity, and for the territorial economy. (by Avionews)
